Tech Savvy Teens is a program organized by Ho'okama ika Mālama (formerly Acton Digital Academy) that aims to equip Hawaii's youth, aged 13-19, with essential technology skills while fostering intergenerational connections. This program focuses on providing job readiness and tech skills to Native Hawaiian, at-risk, and low-income teens. One key activity involves teens offering tech support to kupuna (seniors) at local senior living centers and community events. The program covers various aspects, including managing finances using mobile banking technologies and improving health management through telehealth services and gadgets. The goal is to enhance digital proficiency among teens and support seniors in navigating the digital world, ultimately bridging the generational tech gap and empowering the community.

Ōpio Pop-Up Makeke: The Opio Pop Up Makeke is an event organized by Ho'okama ika Mālama (formerly Acton Digital Academy) for Hawaii's youth aged 11-19 years old. It focuses on empowering Native Hawaiian youth entrepreneurs and celebrating cultural heritage. At this event, enrolled Native Hawaiian students at Ho'okama ika Mālama take the lead as event coordinators. The Pop Up Makeke is inclusive, allowing non-native participants to rent booths for a fee, fostering entrepreneurship, serving as a cultural exchange hub, and inviting community resources offering youth services. This initiative aims to support and inspire young entrepreneurs while highlighting the importance of cultural heritage and community engagement.
