Welcome to Kaulike Academy, a learner-driven program dedicated to empowering Native Hawaiian youth aged 13-19. Our mission is to foster independence, personal growth, and practical skills to prepare students for meaningful, fulfilling lives and future careers.
With our studio location in Kaneohe at Waiwai Collective spaces—each studio hosts a maximum of 15 students, immersing them in hands-on, real-world projects that promote critical thinking and self-directed learning. Through community projects, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, digital skills, and Hawaiian cultural experiences, we equip students with the practical tools they need to thrive. Learners also lead afterschool programs like Tech Savvy Teens and ʻŌpio Popup Makeke, developing essential skills while actively contributing to their communities.
Supported by the VELA Fund, we offer scholarships to ensure inclusivity and diversity. Our programs run in-person Tuesday through Thursday, with Monday's and Fridays reserved for apprenticeships, internships and personal projects. At Kaulike Academy, students are encouraged to embrace their unique talents, engage with their communities, and take ownership of their educational journey.
Families may choose one of two contribution pathways:

Kaulike Academy is committed to providing an inclusive educational environment that welcomes students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin. We do not discriminate in our admissions, programs, scholarships, or activities.
To ensure this policy is known to the entire community we serve, we publicize it regularly through local newspapers, broadcast media, and digital platforms during our registration and solicitation periods.
While Kaulike Academy focuses on supporting at-risk, low-income, and Native Hawaiian children, we are committed to fostering equity and opportunity for all students.
Nestled in the vibrant city of Kaneohe, our close-knit, learner-focused school is a space for physical, spiritual, and intellectual exploration. At Ka Wai Wai ma Ko'olau, students thrive in an environment built on shared values and community connections, fostering positive change throughout Hawaiʻi. Aligned with Kaulike Academy principles, we empower learners to take on leadership roles within their communities.
